In Memoriam: Edward Stanley John Charles Ashton

Today we remember Edward Ashton, who was born in Finsbury Park on 19 June 1884. He was educated at Ealing College and St Frances Xavier’s College, Bruges. He joined the Army Service Corps on 11 August 1914, just after the outbreak of war. Edward died on 16 June 1915 in St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London of rheumatic fever contracted at the front. We believe he is buried in New Southgate Cemetery; he was remembered on the Alabaster War Memorial.
